Despite being close, these two areas have very different character characteristics. Throughout Jumeirah Park, a network of avenues and side streets is lined with independent 3-bedroom, 4-bedroom, and 5-bedroom villas – often with generous gardens and garages. Rather than being a traditional park with grass, swings, and trees, it is a park in the sense that it is called Jumeirah Park. In the neighboring Jumeirah Islands, there are four to five-bedroom luxury villas with ornately landscaped boulevards, side streets, and cul-de-sacs interspersed with waterways and lakes. In addition to the Jumeirah Islands Club, residents can use the pool, and non-residents can enjoy a meal or listen to live singers sing classic tunes from the past as they sit at the bar. In both areas, there are quiet streets and an easygoing feel, which explains why this part of Dubai is so popular with families.

Shopping, eating, and drinking

You can try fancy cakes and coffee at French Bakery, grab a quick meal at Burger Fuel or Subway, or dine casually at Chez Amy’s or any of the other cafes and restaurants at Jumeirah Park Pavilion. There is also a barber, nail salon, toy store, video game shop, a Geant supermarket, and more at the mall. The Islands club offers two bars and a restaurant with a terrace serving an international menu, but there are no retail or hospitality outlets on Jumeirah Islands itself. In Springs Town Centre, JLT, or Meadow’s Town Centre, you will find more shops and eateries.

The location

Al Khail Street and Sheikh Zayed Road are just a short drive away from this area, which is located between Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Emirates Living. By car or taxi, you can reach Dubai Marina, Media City, and the Mall of the Emirates in less than ten minutes, including the Ibn Battuta shopping mall.

A day on the town

The quiet roads and pathways on the Islands provide relative safety for cyclists, joggers, and walkers. The Islands Club pool and facilities can be used to exercise, or the kids can play 5-a-side football at the DBS campus in Jumeirah Park. Within a 10-15 minute drive are Emirates Golf Club and Montgomery Dubai golf clubs, both internationally acclaimed. The Springs and The Meadows Town Centre venues offer gyms and fitness classes to combat the summer heat. For those without cars, the F41 bus runs to Ibn Battuta, or they can take the Metro from there or to Nakheel Metro Station.

From primary to secondary

Dubai British School (DBS) has a new campus in Jumeirah Park (DBS-JP), just a few minutes drive from the Islands development. The main DBS site near Springs 3, Emirates International School in Meadows 4 and Raffles International School Nursery in The Lakes are the main schools in Emirates Living.
